ドイツ警察 インターネット捜査に足かせ

GERMAN POLICE BARRED FROM SECRET COMPUTER SEARCHES OVER NET
A German court has ruled that police cannot secretly search
suspects' computer hard drives over the Internet. The ruling
bars police from using software to search through remote
hard drives unless parliament passes a law explicitly
allowing the technique. However, police still will be
allowed to seize evidence from PCs when conducting searches
in person.

APPLE, BEATLES MAKE PEACE OVER TRADEMARK ISSUES
For the third time in nearly three decades, iPod maker Apple
has resolved a bitter trademark dispute with The Beatles'
guardian Apple Corps Ltd. over use of the iconic apple logo
and name. While the truce appears to finally bury the
long-simmering animosity between the two companies, music
lovers will still need to wait for the right to buy The
Beatles songs on Apple's iTunes online store.

CHINA SUSPECTED OF TRYING TO BLOCK ACCESS TO MARXIST TEXTS
People at the Marxist Internet Archive believe that computer
attacks primarily from China are jeopardizing its ability to

Gorbachev said the teacher, Alexander Ponosov, who is from a
remote village in the Urals, should be shown mercy because
he did not know he was committing a crime. Microsoft's Gates
later refused to intervene.

further behind the rest of the world as governments fail to
open markets and drive down costs.

YOUTUBE TO POST WARNING IN JAPAN ABOUT COPYRIGHT
Google Inc.'s YouTube.com agreed to display warnings on its
Web site in Japanese not to upload copyright materials to
the popular Internet service, a group of Japanese media
firms said on Tuesday. The decision comes as a part of
ongoing talks between YouTube and Japan Society for Rights
of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC), which last
year pushed the American firm to erase 30,000 clips from its
pages because of copyright infringement.

アメリカの十代の約半分はネットポルノに被弾

NEARLY HALF OF TEENS EXPOSED TO PORN ONLINE
About 4 in every 10 American youths age 10 to 17 report
they've seen pornography while on the Internet, according to
a study published yesterday. Two-thirds of them say it was
uninvited. Many of the encounters with online pornography,
both sought-out and accidental, were related to use of
file-sharing programs to download images.
