True to herself, she has found a new direction. Leaving behind the idol world and devoting herself to singing, Goto found a new partner.
Her brother was arrested last October. Since then, she felt uncomfortable as part of an idol group, and with the scandal making things worse, she graduated from Hello Project.
In March of this year, she spent about one month in Los Angeles. While there, she worked at voice training, among other things. On May 21, her brother's sentence was passed. With that behind her, she was able to look forward, and the chance for her to make a comeback as a singer arose.
Avex could see her limitless potential, and began a series of meetings with Goto. As a result, her record company and management both transferred from Up Front Group to Avex Group on June 1.
She joins "rhythm zone", the label that exposed Japan to R&B with artists such as EXILE and Koda Kumi (25). With Goto looking to become an artist, being surrounded by specialised staff is the best thing for her. She commented on the move, saying, "I love singing even more now, and most of all, I want to share the songs I love with everybody."
The details of her future activities are yet to be decided. According to Avex, "I think everybody will see the new Goto Maki in front of them soon enough, so please stay tuned." It has now been ten years since her debut with Morning Musume in 1999. Having braved these stormy seas, the New Gomaki will show us how she has evolved soon.
"For a singer, it's most important to love to sing, and because of that, I've decided on a new direction for my future. Nearly 10 years after my debut, I've met with Avex. I feel like I have new motivation and great potential now. I love singing even more now, and most of all, I want to share the songs I love with everybody. I'm going to work my hardest, so please give me your support.

It's really dry in my room now, and it's making my voice sound older. It's like, "Am I really only 22?"... I'll buy a humidifier tomorrow My voice is important! And dry air makes it easier to catch a cold!
But thinking about it, for some reason, a lot of singers have husky voices when they talk normally. Like Mariah Carey. When she sings, she has a really powerful voice, but when she's talking, she sounds deep and refined in a good way! I really think that's cool. I admire that
Oh! That reminds me! I was at Starbucks today, ordering my usual (iced caramel macchiato with whipped cream)... and I was praised! That's right... somebody praised me! My hair colour. A woman said to me, "That colour looks really good!" "Where did you get it done?" "If it's a salon around here, I'll get it done too " and so on... But I got it dyed in Japan... She didn't really understand my [English] "In Japan", but said, "That's too bad... It really looks great!" I'm so happy! I'm so happy!
Oh, and I went to the gym and walked for 50 minutes. My face was covered with salty sweat... (lol)
Anyway, I worked hard today I'll do my best tomorrow, too!

This morning I practiced my English pronunciation.
It's really difficult. I can't speak in English at all.
Korean, well I can speak a few words!
Chinese... well, I can say my name LOL
But... still, I've been here for a week so....
Little by little I'll be able to do the pronunciation.
And then, if I speak it. it'll be the best!
Ah, yeah, today I had voice training.....
It seems I was able to improve my voice
This is also step by step!
I went to the gym!!
For now I'm doing 45 minutes of workout: walking fast in a running machine (?), also in something that looked like a bicycle, sit-ups, back and push-ups!!!
The push-ups are hard, isn't? ..... LOL
By the way, I didn't say it yesterday, but some Japanese who is living in L.A. told me:
"You really look like Goto Maki!"
So, I said something like "they tell me that a lot "
I'm winning popularity (can't believe it)
Oh well, with that said~~~~!!
